About ETS
Emergo Train System (ETS) is an academic / educational simulation system used in several countries around the world for training and testing the preparedness and management of emergencies, major incidents and disasters.
ETS Queensland, Australia conducted an ETS Senior instructor course in March 28-30. The course was held in Brisbane with 17 participants. We wish all participants good luck with future exercises!
On May 9 the ETS Conmpetence center arranged a meeting at WADEM congress for ETS instructors and educators. Participants on the meeting were from Australia, Denmark, Canada, Sweden, Ireland and Belgium. During the meeting the participants shared their experience in how they use ETS and identified needs for development. Notes from the meeting are displayed on the ETS website on the Senior instructor zone (requires login on the website).
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) First Aid and Prehospital Care team together with the Hospital team worked with Ukrainian colleagues to translate and deliver Mass Casualty Incident Training in Dnipro 23rd – 25th March.
ICRC colleagues from 18 country delegations joined together with colleagues from the First Aid and Prehospital Emergency Care and Hospital teams in Geneva for a 5 day training designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills to facilitate the development, dissemination and delivery of mass casualty plans. Collective experiences were shared and learned from with a blended multimodal learning approach which included using the EMERGO vertical table top tool to ‘stress and test’ systems, tools and processes with the aim of developing or improving mass casualty plans.
The ETS Competence center will arrange an ETS meeting for ETS Senior instructors and Educators at the next World Association for Disaster and Emergeny Medicine (WADEM) congress which will be held May 9-12 2023 in Killarney, Ireland. The ETS meeting will be held Tuesday May 9 at 11.00 in room MoD Suite 5. Hope to see you there!

The ETS Competence center conducted a Swedish ETS Senior instructor course in Stockholm March 14-16. The course was specifically for Region Stockholm and participants were from different hospitals in the greater Stockholm region. They can now set up and run trainings and exercises with the help of ETS in their own hospitals. Several health care regions in Sweden are using ETS as a tool for training in emergency and disaster medicine as well as psychosocial support.
